STORY
Mathew Street 1974

This is a group of Liverpool celebrities at the press event for the Arthur Dooley's statue "Four Lads Who Shook The World" taken in May 1974. I heard this was happening so went out during my lunchtime to take some shots; it was of course well covered by the press as well. Pictured are the folk group The Spinners, a young Pete Price the Radio City presenter (wearing a rather stylist coat all the fashion then) Tom O'Connor the top Liverpool comedian and of course the late Alan Rudkin one of Liverpool's greatest boxing legends. The building site hoarding behind them is the site of the Cavern Club demolished in 1973, what a great mistake that was.
