I turned 13 in 1960 so my teenage years were spent going into Liverpool for the music. Went to Saturday night dances at the Holy Ghost, then on to the Orrel Park, Litherland Town Hall. At around 16 started going to the Cavern, and from there we graduated to the Downbeat, Mardi, then on to the Blue Angel, The Manhattan, and the Beachcomber!! Liverpool was alive in those days. I worked in India Buildings and Tower Building.
I love to go back and visit as my whole family is still there.....Lathom, Formby, Waterloo, Crosby, Ormskirk, Maghull, Lydiate. I left England for the US in 1968 but Liverpool has always been my true home.
