STORY
Time stands still at Edge Hill.
Edge Hill station clock. I can remember with fondness Edge Hill station. It was a busy station. The old station officer being an elderly gent, reminded me of a military man. He was always dressed in regulation British rail uniform, including fob watch that he regally checked. The waiting rooms and the public toilets were still very much of an age from a time long gone. A time when the trains were used by business men, and ladies who travelled to work every day on British Rail trains. It was a very different time and a different place. The men would always have a suit and tie, the ladies dressed like twiggy.

Edge Hill Station is the oldest passenger railway station in the World. Some say when Stephenson's Rocket left Edge Hill for Manchester on the 15th September 1830 it marked the beginning of the modern world.
