Mayoress Maureen 1952
My great-grandfather Mark Connolly was elected as Mayor of Bootle in 1952. As Mrs. Connolly was an invalid, Mark's daughter Maureen, my grandmother, was to be the youngest ever Mayoress at 23 years old. Mark's year of office was well-received by all, a feat of popularity achieved with no little help from his daughter who was acclaimed by all who met her.
